he Women’s Board of Baptist Health Care Foundation is bringing back its Stepping Out in Style Fashion Show for an incredible 46th year on Oct. 27 at Sanders Beach-Corinne Jones Resource Center. The event will feature the latest fashions from local boutiques showcased on the runway by professional and local models. The show includes hors d’oeuvres, live and silent auctions and a cash bar.
The event proceeds will help build a playground for the Behavioral Health Unit at the new Baptist Hospital campus, opening in the fall of 2023. The Behavioral Health Unit provides care to patients that need inpatient behavioral health care each year, more than 1,100 of those patients are children ages 10-17. The playground will be a fun and welcoming environment for those young patients.
For more than 45 years, the Women’s Board of Baptist Health Care Foundation has worked to meet the health care needs of the community. They have provided nursing scholarships, speech therapy for children in need, a DEXA scan and other equipment, a palliative care suite at Baptist Hospital, the Totes for Tots program for children in foster care at FamiliesFirst Network, a new infusion center for chemotherapy patients within the Kugelman Cancer Center, renovations to The Meridan at Lakeview Center, a new playground at Lakeview Center, funding for the greatest need within the COVID-19 Response Fund and naming of the nursery within the mother-baby unit at the new Baptist Health Care campus.
