ELDRED TAYLOR, M.D.

A well-known speaker and board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist at Emory University, Dr. Eldred Taylor is a nationally known expert in diagnosing and treating hormonal imbalances using salivary testing. Taylor believes that dietary and lifestyle changes combined with safe and effective natural therapies can solve many problems. He first became interested in this alternative form of therapy while his wife suffered through severe PMS symptoms that birth control pills and anti-depressants failed to address.

Bella: What will you discuss at the expo?
Taylor: I will discuss how hormone imbalances can lead to a variety of common symptoms in women and men. I will explain how proper testing for hormones with saliva testing, proper treatment with bio-identical hormones and supplements can eliminate the need for antidepressants and synthetic hormones.

Bella: What should women be asking their doctors about hormonal imbalances, and how can they go about getting personalized treatment?
Taylor: Patients should educate themselves and take control of their health care. By understanding some basic female physiology, women will know if the treatment recommended by their doctor is the best advice for them. At my seminar, I empower women to become "honorary gynecologists" so they can make decisions that best benefit them personally.

Bella: What turned you on to alternative therapies?
Taylor: My wife began to have severe PMS symptoms. Birth control pills and anti-depressants did not help her. I had patients that began to tell me about alternative therapies that worked. My wife and began to investigate some of these "alternative therapies and found that scientifically they made a lot of sense. They also worked. This career focus change started by trying to help my wife feel better.

Bella: Is this a burgeoning field in medicine? Can we expect more doctors to adopt this method?
Taylor: I have traveled throughout the country and to Canada and Australia speaking to doctors about bio-identical hormones and how to treat conditions without totally relying on drugs as the only form of
therapy. I have been pleasantly surprised at the acceptance of the information by doctors. Most doctors are like myself; they have realized that their ability to help patients is limited if they only use drugs to improve the patient’s health.

Bella: What are three words of advice for women?
Taylor: 1. Educate yourself about your health. 2. Don't take any medication or any advice unless you are absolutely convinced that it is right for YOU! 3. Trust your God-given women's intuition.
