These maillots were made for modeling. The black plunging-neck swimsuit on Sheryl Schwartz is one of this season’s
top styles. The more modest leopard-print swimsuit, modeled by Brenda Moorer, has reaching in the right
places for a non-surgical tummy tuck. |
Looking for a see-worthy
swimsuit?
Don’t overlook this season’s
one-pieces, which are no longer just
cop-outs for bikini-dreading dames.
“One-pieces can be as sexy as
bikinis,” said Rachael Friedmann,
owner of Adorn, a new upscale
swimsuit and lingerie boutique at 32
S. Palafox Place in downtown
Pensacola.
Designers are introducing
fashion-forward options with
cutaways, ruching, plunging
necklines and scooped backs.
Sheryl Schwartz, an esthetician
at Studio Twenty-8 in Pensacola,
found one she couldn’t resist at
Target.
“I’m always looking for something
different or funky that no one else
has, and this was it,” Schwartz, 19,
said of the black, plunging-neck
swimsuit she is modeling.
Pensacola resident Brenda Moorer
has always preferred one-pieces.
“I’m a little self conscious
since having my baby,” said the
mother of an 8-month-old boy.
The leopard-print bathing suit
she is modeling has strategically
placed ruching — which not only
conceals lumps and bumps, but also
updates the look.
“Designers are coming up with
more ways to flatter every figure,
and you can still be trendy doing
it,” Friedmann said. “That’s what’s
going on with this season’s
one-pieces. You can show off your
assets and still be covered up and
appropriate, which is great.” |
